Interactive System Architecture for Layered Applications

چکیده
INTRODUCTION Today, users have access to a multitude of interactive systems, such as desktop computers, cell phones, and interactive whiteboards. However, all these systems are designed to be used mostly independently and are severely limited in their cross-system capabilities: applications are encapsulated by the system they run on and cannot easily transfer or extend their user interface (UI) or information space (IS) to other systems.

A Scalable and Extensible Interactive Scenario Architecture for Distributed Command and Control Simulations
Interactive virtual environments are becoming increasingly popular for their utility in virtual training, distributed decision-making and collaborative environments. Some of these applications rely on a scenario that is revealed to the user as he/she interacts with synthetic objects and characters that inhabit virtual worlds. The development and authoring of interactive dynamic scenarios is oft...
متن کاملModel-Based Approach for Intelligent Control
The paper discusses a comprehensive, model-based approach for the design and implementation of intelligent controllers. The system has been implemented in the framework of the Multigraph Architecture. The Multigraph Architecture is a layered system, which includes a parallel, graph computation model, the corresponding execution environment, and software tools supporting the interactive, graphic...
متن کاملIntegration of Applications into Digital Television Environment
The overall software system integration to run interactive services in set-top box is hard and essential since there is no ready system to ensure the cross-platform interoperability of the applications. This paper presents a layered system integration model, which consists of interoperable applications, Application Programming Interface (API), system software, and software and hardware resource...
متن کاملDeveloping an End-to-End Planning Application from a Timeline Representation Framework
This paper describes aspects of a project aiming at creating a general, flexible and reusable software architecture to address planning problems in space missions. It introduces recent work to realize an open software framework for supporting development of planning and scheduling space applications. The framework, which is named TRF (Timeline-based Representation Framework), aims at supporting...
متن کاملSatellite Communications: Internet challenges and strategies for low-latency applications
This paper analyzes several mitigation strategies and techniques that could enable delay sensitive applications to work properly over satellite IP networks. A study is conducted on different satellite classes (GEO, MEO and LEO) and the analysis of the current solutions for real-time interactive applications is performed. The great distance from Earth results in an important RTT, which is the ma...
